Abstract

This study explores the influence of Christian Religious Education teacher counseling and students’ understanding of sexuality on the prevention of free-sex behavior among students at SMP Negeri 1 Sei Suka. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative method with a correlational approach, the research involved 32 respondents. Findings indicate that both PAK counseling and sexual understanding significantly and positively affect teenagers’ capacity to prevent risky sexual behavior. Individually, sexual awareness promotes responsible attitudes, while PAK guidance reinforces students’ spiritual and moral foundations. Collectively, these variables contribute 27.8% to the prevention of free-sex behavior. The study highlights the importance of integrating spiritual education with sexual knowledge as a preventive strategy against the impact of permissive youth culture. It is recommended that schools strengthen counseling programs and value-based sexuality education to foster holistic character development among adolescents.
