KAJIAN TEOLOGIS IMAN DAN IPTEK BERDASARKAN KEJADIAN 6:14-16

Abstract

This article examines the relationship between faith and science and technology (IPTEK) from a theological perspective based on Genesis 6:14-16. In the contemporary context, IPTEK is often seen as contradictory to faith because it tends to distance humans from spiritual values. However, through the story of Noah who built the ark at God's command, this article emphasizes that IPTEK is not contradictory to faith, but can be a concrete manifestation of obedience to God. This research uses a purely literature review method and a theological-biblical approach. The results of the study indicate that IPTEK in the light of Christian faith should be used for the glory of God and the welfare of humanity, not for arrogance and abuse of power. Therefore, the church is required not to be anti-IPTEK, but needs to educate the congregation to use IPTEK wisely, ethically, and based on the values of faith. The affirmation that God is the source of all knowledge shows that the development of IPTEK based on the fear of God will produce blessings and not destruction.
